NEW YORK (May 24, 2013) – Former Japanese National Team player, and current Tampa Bay Rowdies defender Takuya Yamada took part in "Toshiya Fujita's testimonial match", a Japanese midfielder who played for over 10 years in the J.League. 

Fujita is known for his time spent at Jubilo Iwata, where he was said to play a fundamental role in developing the club into one of the premier teams in Japan.  Yamada and Fujita have shared many memories as teammates on the national team, including the 2004 AFC Asian Cup. Both players were on the Japanese squad that would go on to defeat the host country, China, in the final to earn their third AFC Asian Cup.
