Takuya Mihara Joins LeadOff Sports Marketing

NEW YORK (September 17, 2012) – LeadOff Sports Marketing announced today that Takuya Mihara, former Sponsor Services Director at the Staten Island Yankees, has joined LeadOff Sports Marketing as Director of Business Development to manage its clients and businesses. Mihara will oversee and manage all facets of sponsorship, marketing, branding and representation for all LeadOff Sports Marketing properties.

Mihara previously worked for the Staten Island Yankees, a minor league affiliate of the MLB New York Yankees. After graduating from Waseda University of Tokyo Japan in 2007 where he was the captain of the Division 1 ice hockey team, he started his sports business career with the Staten Island Yankees as an intern. He became a full time employee with the team in 2008, and since spent 5 years in the Sponsorship Services department, dealing with corporate partners which included both national and local companies.

Mihara's main responsibilities as the Director of the department, were to maintain the relationship with each corporate partner, and implement all sponsorship package elements including signage, promotions, events, print advertising, and hospitality. He oversaw the execution of partnerships for more than 40 accounts including Con Edison, New York Daily News, Verizon, and Pepsi. He and his team successfully renewed over 90% of the partnerships in the each of the past 5 seasons.
